Come join our family
Fire departments throughout our state and across this great nation need volunteers with the desire and compassion to help others. Rocky Hill Hook & Ladder Co. #1 is no different. For over 100 years, the men and women of RHFD have been responding to calls when our neighbors need help and assistance in their darkest hours. Being a member brings a sense of pride and honor - that is not found elsewhere.
Interior Firefighter
Nationally, approximately 70% of firefighters are volunteer. Interior firefighters are an integral part to providing professional fire suppression and rescue services to the local community. Members that do not already have a NJ State Certified Firefighter I training will be sent to a local county emergency training facility. Upon successful completion, new firefighters will function as part of a team committed to serving and protecting the citizens of Rocky Hill and our neighboring communities.
Junior Firefighter
Junior members participate in drills and can ride to calls with the interior firefighters but they are limited to an “on scene support” role. Junior firefighters must be the ages of 16 to 18 and have a general interest in emergency services.
Associate Members
Individuals that would like to support the fire department, but do not wish to obtain the Firefighter I certification can still contribute. RHFD associate members serve the department in a multitude of administrative roles, including business management and fundraising. These roles are critical to the department’s long-term success.
